So, I actually don’t know where to start with Caroline and Andy. I’ll try my best to give them the best description of their day as possible *she says already feeling overwhelmed with emotion!*
Caroline found me through a mutual friend, Nicola, who does these incredible cake master pieces – you’ve probably heard me go on about her before – super uber talented crazy cake lady (Little Brown Fairy Cake) Caroline and Nicola both worked in the cake industry, so naturally Caroline booked Nic to bake her, not only an epic wedding cake, but also a groom cake too – I’ll let you see that on it’s own.
Caroline booked me over email, which alway makes me worry – what if they don’t like me when they do finally meet me!
Luckily Caroline & Andy did like me, that, or they are just really good liars! We met for their pre wedding shoot, both confessing they are not super confident in front of the camera. Which is fine, because I’m really talented at making a fool of myself on pre wedding shoots so they became quite relaxed and even enjoyed it a little!!
So around came their wedding day (super quickly may I add.) and like an excited puppy I turned up at the beautiful Crescent Turner Hotel in Whitstable, where Caroline and her two daughters were getting ready. Caroline had organised some gorgeous touches with gifts for her girls, flip flops and dressing gowns to get ready in and the most gorgeous flower comb for her hair.
Lydia Rae (Lydia Rae Make Up) was already there, working her magic on the already gorgeous girlies. I caught some casual stuff while they got ready, getting excited every time a bit of sparkle came out! And then Hector arrived.
Hector is a beautiful VW camper van. Lawrence from Retro Rides 4 Brides drove the whole lot of them to East Quay for their wedding ceremony. Hector stayed for some awesome photographs, which was perfect because Caroline and Andy chose the hottest day of the entire universe to get married, so when the long walk of the beach didn’t take to their fancy – Hector made for a beautiful back drop!
The ceremony was beautiful, it was relaxed and emotional – the perfect amount of giggles and tears and Andy looked at Caroline like he was falling in love with her all over again.
On went the day and it was totally epic. The food was beautiful – which isn’t surprising coming from East Quay. The speeches were carried out amazingly, and then the ICE CREAM came. Treats of a Tricycle provided some beautiful flavours but I’m especially bias of their services because I got my own salted caramel in a cone. YUM.
There wasn’t a cloud in the sky so we got a few shots on the beach, I even convinced Andy to get in the water – which he will never forgive me for, but I had a great time so that counts. Andy made sure he got some of their friends involved, even his new friend ‘Hat Boy’ from Treats of a Tricycle (see if you can spot him in the sea!) a big high five to him for agreeing!!
I then partied away with Caroline and Andy with Ian from Celebration Sounds providing some almighty tunes. I’m excited to catch some party moments too, considering how hot the day was I was worried I wouldn’t be able to provide any dancing pictures – but these guys know how to party!!
Take a look for yourself and see what you think, all in all I was honoured to be apart of it, and I hope i’ve provided some epic memories for Caroline and Andy – Congratulations Guys!!
