I’m pleased that my job is something I’m so passionate about. I’ve been welcomed into peoples lives and been given the extraordinary task of capturing the loved ones around them on the most important day of their lives. I never take that for granted and I love the pressure in doing such a beautiful thing!
That being said, sometimes there is a job I am booked for, that I’m as excited and as equally terrified for. Cathy got in touch with me and booked me for a big occasion. I was so excited to hear of all her plan’s and all the loved ones she had invited to Sprivers Mansion in Tonbridge for the big day. But there was a big difference to my normal days, this was a vow renewal.
I know, I hear you say – Vow renewals aren’t that uncommon. BUT this one came with a big surprise, a surprise for Cathy’s husband! Mark was to arrive after a year of planning in secret, to his friends and family all gathered ready to get married, again!
I arrived with the nervousness I do most wedding days, what I like to think keeps me on my toes and ready for action. Cathy was keen for all the candid moments, so I showed up in time to see Cathy have her make up done, and her hair curled, surrounded by lots of fabulous ladies. within minutes I could see how truly loved this lady was.
When the time came for Mark to arrive, the atmosphere was all giggles and excitement! He walked through the door presented with Cathy, along with their 3 amazing children, holding up a sign saying ‘will you marry me, again?’ to which Mark responded with an ‘of course I will!’
There was a beautiful ceremony conducted by Katie Keen of True Blue Ceremonies – with Cathy reading out her own vows. It was honestly beautiful.
The day unfolded with lots of details nodding to loved ones who could no longer be there, atmosphere created by the lovely Emma White who sang beautiful songs dedicated to family members and close friends. The speeches were incredibly emotional, with Cathy and Mark making sure they all knew they were there because they had been so supportive throughout a difficult time in their lives.
All in all, it was a beautiful day and Cathy did the most outstanding job of keeping it all under wraps, as well as pulling off such a grand occasion. Well done everyone for pulling off such a surprise, and thank you so much for including me!
