Josie & Scott held their day at probably one of my favourite wedding venues – so when Josie got in touch to see if I was available for their wedding day, I did a little excited dance.
I actually knew Josie already, we went to primary school together. I remember going to her house and playing with her and her gorgeous sisters – I grew up with two sisters with a big age gap and I was in awe as to how close these girls were. They are all now grown up and adulting hard – one travelling the world, one was about to pop and another getting married – how exciting!
So my arrival to Markleybrook started with the girls all getting ready in the fabulous studio they have set up perfectly for hair and make up. I found their dresses in the stunning bedroom, Josie had chosen shades of purple for all her girls – I love how peoples visions come to life in front of them!
Scott wasn’t exactly full of nerves before the ceremony, sometimes I’m greeted with shakes when I head to the ceremony area but Scott was as cool as cucumber and couldn’t wait to see Josie.
The girls made their way to ceremony in Marleybrook’s outside ceremony area – a gorgeous garden filled with lavender and sun!
The ceremony was short and sweet, with a personal touch in the form of a poem written by one of Josie’s sisters.
After the ceremony, Josie and Scott walked back down the aisle to bubbles, and then followed probably the most awesome bagpipe player ever to where guests could enjoy some drinks and canapés.
We got some fabulous group shots with friends and families under the shade of some gorgeous trees and next to the goats they have on site. Yes, goats.
The whole day was pretty epic, everyone’s always pretty happy at a wedding and these guys didn’t fail at bringing the happy vibes – I could tell that Josie and Scott had put a lot of effort into making this day something people would remember forever.
Marleybrook is always looking gorgeous, so I knew it would be super easy to photograph inside the Marquee – beautifully styled by Josie and Scott’s decor!
Once everyone was full of tasty food and laughed at the speeches, it was time for the FUNFAIR to open! YAAAAS.
The sun light was INCREDIBLE so we took advantage and went for a stroll for some portraits. and went to visit the goats…
We then asked if we were allowed to borrow the gorgeous husky dogs for some pictures because these guys fell in love with them, did I forget to mention that Marleybrook house casually have their husky dogs on site and they are so lovely!
After a ga-zillion cuddles with the pups, we headed inside for the party to start – Cake, dancing and the bar, what else do you need?
We ended the night with some awesome night time portraits – because who can resist fairy lights?
I’m always honoured to be somebody’s wedding photographer, there’s something heartwarming about people trusting you enough to document their day. So every booking means so much to me, thank you guys for trusting me and I had the best time with you and all your amazing guests!
