What happens when you join a group of Kent based wedding suppliers? Well, the styled shoots start rolling. It feels like only a year ago when styled shoots were a rare occasion, but now they are absolutely everywhere, they are amazing fun and a great excuse to have your buddies, ahem, I mean wedding suppliers, show off their pure talents. So when Lou, from Bake to the future, comes and asks me to collaborate on this idea she has, of course I jump at the chance. It began the start of a beautiful friendship, one where we guilt trip each other to take part in each other’s shoots, because what are friends for??
Modern and industrial, the super bright pops of blue, green, yellow, red, orange etc against the pretty surroundings of the Kent countryside and the huge brick exterior of The Winding House are such a stunning and beautiful contrast. This shoot was all about fun! – Lou Finn, Bake to the Future.
The idea behind this shoot, our first ever together, was for it to be full of laughter, fun, bright colours and something people would look at as inspirational. We are big believers in letting your ideas run wild when it comes to wedding planning, tradition doesn’t have to be boring, your wedding celebrations don’t have to be traditional!

What a day we had, it was awesome to get together and unleash our ideas upon the venue. The winding house has a gorgeous bright and industrial feel making a beautiful backdrop for the pops of rainbow, we knew that we needed balloons, and lots of them! So we incorporated them in lots of shots, as many backgrounds as we could. We decided on needing two brides, showcasing Bridal Boutiqueof Jule’s amazing choices, we even managed to photograph 4 x dresses! I loved photographing the beautiful flat lay with pieces from Oasthouse Gifts and Zoe Barker Designs, Holly, from Locate to Create, styled the flat lay beautifully.
The flowers created by Ellouise, of Flowers by EG, worked perfectly because we wanted that bright, beautiful and wild look. We had five set ups, a ceremony area, a sit down area, the outside bridge to the venue, the cars and then a chill out area complete with treats on a tricycle and the Prosecco bar. The balloons and flowers featured throughout and it blended together beautifully.
I absolutely LOVED the doughnut wall, Lou from Bake to the Future had this HUMONGOUS wall made, by her incredibly handy husband (Hire a Hero!) and it stands out like a gleaming wall of happiness! Surrounded by balloons and standing next to it, another Bake to the Future creation on top of the pinkest chest to really help everything POP.
Not only did I get a chance to live out my best life shooting such colourful moments, James from Film our Day caught some movie magic with not only an editorial video, but an animation too!
So that’s it, I hope you liked reading about this shoot!
